Default I am replacing the EPS module on a 2004 and i have a quick question

Ok i have the EPS module i purchased from ebay, and i have downloaded the user manual for the steps for replacement. the only thing i am curious about is step 4:
Connect the WDS or equivalent to the DLC-2.

i do not have this device to hook in and set the command to the computer. how important is this if i still physically align the tires to neutral and then replace? what do the wonderful mazda experts suggest please! i need your help and greatly appreciate it!

You need to program the new module. It wont work without being programmed. Pain in the **** but common on most Mazda modules now.
