'02 Tribute blowing ign fuses wont start
My '02 Tribute keeps blowing ignition fuses. Whenever this happens, nothing on the dash works and the motor will not turn over. The local Mazda dealer kept it for 4 days and could not come up with a solution. They said they started it over 50 times at the shop. But, as soon as I got it home the fuse blew later that day.
I'm thinking it may have something to do with the security system. The blinking light on the dash continues to blink even with the alarm turned off and the doors open.
Please help!!

RE: '02 Tribute blowing ign fuses wont start
Hey martin8fan; I'm having the same probs with my 01 trib es. I was told that its a processer part of the computer that deals with the fobs embeded in the key which deals with the ignition starting. Thats why it starts sometimes and other not. I'll keep the board posted.

06 Tribute 2.3L clicking inition wont start and instrument panel not working

Any updates on this issue?
I know this is an old thread- but my 06 tribute (2.3L manual) wouldnt start this morning after seemingly running fine so I pop started it in gear thinking the alternator was perhaps bad (I put in a new starter and battery less than a month ago) to go to the store and have them check the alternator/ buy a new one when not far down the road I noticed none of the instruments on the dash were working, I felt it run funny for a moment so i turned back home. on the way I tried the wipers and they were super weak and window wouldnt go back up and radio not turn on.
Checked all the fuses upon returning home and found that both 20a "power point" fuses, one under the hood fusebox and the inside passenger fuesbox ones, were blown.
All attempts at starting vehicle with the key only result in continuous clicking and a wierd little shuddering vibration of the needles on the instrument clusters for a few seconds after discontinuing turning over the key.
I got my neighbor to give me jump and while it fired up immediately- it only ran for less than five minutes at idle in my carport before dying on its own. It seemed to rev up ok while I had it running then
