Question 2001 Tribute right front and rear doors wont lock.

According to a family friend who fixes cars both of my actuators (spelling?) are dead. Does that sound like the problem to you guys?

Since the tribute is discontinued, he can not get the rear actuator from Mazda but said a Ford one would work?

Does anyone have a list of compatible parts and/or a guide on how to replace it after I find them?

New from ford each of them is costs 250$ so if I can find them used online/ at a junk car place, I can save a LOT of money.

Thanks!

These are made by Ford. Are you sure it's the actuator? I'd suspect door lock/handles first.

Geeksqaudkid:

In your situatio I would take the door panel off one door and look at that thing. Most likely the same actuator (your spelling was correct) is being used in a number of models. The Tribute is related tot he Escape/Mariner.
That means you should have no trouble locating a used actuator at a junk yard.
But before you replace any, spray some silicone at the movable parts of it. That fixed the door lock actuators on my '98 protege.
