I have a 2005 Tribute 2WD Automatic. The other day while driving home the transmission somehow went into neutral by itself. I coasted it home and left it. I was able to look at the car today and it would go into drive and reverse fine. While shifting back and forth to try and duplicate the issue again the transmission went into neutral again even while i place the shifter in park. I turned off the vehicle and restarted it again and it work for a bit then stopped again. While the vehicle was off i could move the shifter back and forth without depressing the release button.

I'm not sure what is causing the shift issue, so i decided to ask the experts (you guys) and see what could be the culprit.
