2006 Tribute 3.0 died suddenly
Had to tow it home after it starting sputtering/jerking doing 45 Mph down a road. Stalled quickly thereafter coasting into a gas station. I can start it at home now, but it is so puttering and gets hot near the engine within a few minutes so I haven't even dared try to run it that long again. Lifted back seat and had wife turn key on/off and I hear the fuel pump prime...but can't say if it sounds a tad weaker or not than it used to. Pulled off vacuum line at Fuel pressure sensor and don't detect any gas moisture at all. No Schrader valve on these models to go rent a loaner fuel pressure tester. I Have a code reader coming by UPS some time today to start with codes, but at a real loss so far.
Edit: Ok I just got the Scan Result attached to this. It's got 11 different things, but like I said this thing died outta nowhere pretty much so I'm guessing maybe the other codes tripped due to the fuel issue to begin with. The P0193 Fuel Pressure Sensor and the B1202 Fuel Tank Sender Assembly (Fuel Pump or connector of course) are the 2 that got me the most suspicous.

Nothin's really coming to me. I'm not accustomed to fuel pumps still running (audibly) but being the problem. Certainly doesn't mean it can't happen, and I'd be willing to help you as you move forward with troubleshooting. One thing I can offer presently:
2003 3.0 FWD tribute fuel rail schrader valve
