Default 2008 mazda tribute bad gas mileage

I have a 2008 mazda tribute 2.3cyl. It has about 153000 miles on it. It's had all routine maintenance and tune ups. I am only getting about 200 miles out of a tank of gas. It's also sluggish. Any help is appreciated

When were the spark plugs last replaced?
When was the fuel & Air filters last replaced?
When was it last scanned for codes?
Does it have coil on plugs or HT leads & central coil?

Spark plugs were last changed about 30,000 miles ago. I am going to change air filter and clean sensor today. It has never been scanned before because it has never given any codes. It has coil on the plugs. This is the second time it has had this problem. The last time I replaced the cylinder head temperature sensor and it was fine after that. I changed that about 20,000 miles ago. I wouldn't think that is the problem again but I have another one on the way. The car is driven about 110 miles a day so only getting the mileage that it is right now is killing me. The only thing I know that I need to replace is the head gasket because it's just starting to barely leak. But it's been a great car. The only thing major I had go out is the electronic steering. And let me tell u that is scary when the steering wheel moves by itself. Thanks for suggestions

O2 sensors gets lazy when old and fluid deposits on them. It's time to change them.
Install new ign coils if you haven't. Flush and fill cooling system. Clean MAF sensor.
Clean the throttle body, watch the video on the page: Rough Idling Issues |*MotorWeek

Change the PCV valve, clean the EGR valve.
Run some lacquer thinner thru the gas tank --- this will help clean catalytic converters and O2 sensors (i've done it at 1/2 strength--2 litres of lacquer thinner not paint thinner):

I changed the air filter and cleaned the mass air flow sensor. That seemed to help considerably. It has pick up now. I need to replace the gasket just underneath the top cover. I am assuming it the head gasket. I just want to confirm before I buy it. I really appreciate the help.

Ok so I keep looking and think now it's the valve cover gasket. I am pretty sure now that it's the valve cover gasket. But let me know if u can. Thanks
