Is there a drain plug for the Torque Converter on a CD4E? I want to drain the transmission and replace the fluid. Obviously I would prefer to use a drain plug rather then just running the transmission in drive and adding fluid until it turns to the correct colour.

Thanks for your help.

There is no drain bung for the torque convertor, nor is it accessible from outside the transmission.

If you don't have access to a flush machine, remove one of the trans cooler hoses from the radiator, aim it into a drain pan, start the engine and add ATF at the same time. If the fluid splutters & stops running out, stop the engine, add more ATF then start again until it runs clean.

All torque converters used to have drain plugs but they stopped using them for about 30+ years because people would drive their cars in to have the trans serviced while they wait. The converter would be hot and when drained would heat soak and cook the front seal resulting in a trans leak. I see a few manufacturers have started putting drain plugs in their converters now but they require the trans to be cold before using it.

Not the way I wanted to do it, but obviously the way it needs to be done. Thanks for the info and your help.
