Air bag system

RE: Air bag system
If you replaced the RCM (restraints control module) with one from a non-curtain vehicle, it may work...not sure. We do a ton of scanning/tracability of restraints systems to ensure they work as intended. Modify anything in the system as built in the plant and you never know what you're going to get. Most likely a lit airbag light.
If you just don't install the curtains, you will absolutely get an airbag light (but it shouldn't have any effect on any other system.) Just make sure you let the buyer know (if you are planning on selling) that it does not have the curtains installed.
As far as airbags being expensive...yes they are. It's the price we pay for safety these days.

Air bag system
I have an 05 tribute that I bought wrecked and am having trouble finding the curtain air bags. So I need to know if I replace the air bag module with one that did not have curtain air bags would this work or would I get the airbag light, or can I just not install the curtain air bags? If any one know where to get the curtain airbags cheaper than the $480 the dealer want per side please let me know. I have checked with wrecking yards, ebay and airbag centers of america with no luck. Thanks Rich
