bad brake hoses
All for of my 02 brake hoses are cracked. I have three questions:
1 How serious is this? (the rubber casing is cracked but there are no leaks)
2 What would be involved in replacing these? (Steps to be taken)
3 Once this is done, how do I bleed the brakes if that is necessary?
Thank you very much for all that you can offer!!!

The rubber being cracked is somewhat normal, but I can also tell you that I have had to replace the front drivers brake hose, as it finally broke on our 2001. It doesn't take to long to replace. Probably an hour job total.
2 What would be involved in replacing these? (Steps to be taken)
Remove wheel, remove brake hose, replace with new hose, bleed brake.

If you don't know how currently, I would find a friend that does, so they can show you. It is also the only way to do it without using a vaccuum pump for brakes. Because you would need someone to press and hold the brake pedal down.

You are welcome. If you go http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=92474
you will find the brake bleeder that I use. I remove all of the brake fluid from my motorcycles every year and depending upon the vehicle, usually about every 18 months to 2 years. I remove all of the fluid from the master cylinder and then refill with fresh fluid. Then starting at the rear of the vehicle, I remove fluid from the lines until I get fresh clean brake fluid. I do this at the same time that I rotate tires and it makes it easy to get done.
Good luck.
