Dashboard Issues While Driving
I have a 2009 Tribute, almost 195,000 miles. Bought it brand new and it's reall been a great car.
Lately I've had a little problem with the dashboard. While driving all my dashboard lights will illuminate, RPM, MPH and temp guages will go to zero, the odometer will show nothing but dashes and the AC will even stop blowing cold. If I stop and put the car in park everything will go back to normal until it happens again.
On another note that may or may not be related, sometimes the car will not crank. I turn the ignition and nothing happens. If I shake the stick shift a bit it seem to fix it.
Is there something like a switch that may need addressing in that shift?

No mention of Check Engine light, but not all conditions trigger it. I'd suggest bring to your local Big Box parts store (Autozone, AdvanceAuto, etc.) for scan.
If interested in buying your own ODB2 Scan Code Reader, here is a link to Scotty Kilmer's ODB2 Scanners Readers. The list starts at less than US$50 and goes up from there.

jefftribute why are you promoting this scanner on three threads all new posts when you joined? Are you trying to promote a product that you sell or have an invested interest in? BTW IMHO Scotty K should retire he gets a lot of things incorrect, inaccurate and in some cases just wrong not to mention he is very opinionated
