Default How to program a new key remote

Ive searched these forums but I cant find specific instructions on how to program an extra key remote. Could someone point me in the right direction?

I have a 2002 Tribute that I just bought and it came with one remote. It happens to be the exact same remote as my 98 Ford F150 that I just sold so I kept one extra remote and i want to program it so it will work with my new Tribute. Can anyone help me??

I have not done this, but I think I found it here somewhere. No guarantees.

Tribute remote programming:

1: Start with key in 'off' postion and all doors closed.
2: Now turn the key from 'off' position to 'run' position 8 times within 10 seconds ending with the key in 'run' (dash lights all on). If all went right the doors will lock and then unlock to indicate you are in program mode.
3: Within 7 seconds push any button on the first transmitter. Doors should lock and unlock to confirm programming.
4: Repeat step 3 with any remaining remotes within 7 seconds.
5: Turn key to off when done entering remotes and all should be back to normal.

My 01 Tribute (DX, 5 cyl, 4 spd) did not come with a key remote originally. Are they all programmed to accept this option?

Not sure; place a call to your nearest Mazda stealership parts department with your VIN handy, they'll know.
