Default leaking oil pan

01 tribute lx v6...oil pan is wet...do i have to change the pan or just the gasket? oil drips almost none on the driveway when parked overnight. if its the gasket, how would i know what type to buy? flat paper or o-ring? the pan or gasket has never been replaced before nor repaired..there's a big difference in cost... thanks for your reply.

If the gasket, I would simply try snugging down the bolts first before trying anything major.

It usually doesn't take much and be sure not to do more harm than good by overtightening them and distorting the gasket surface of the pan itself. That's usually all a "wet pan" takes to fix.
The spec is usually around 8-10ft lbs.
