2001 Tribute DX, V6

PO351
Ignition Coil A
Primary/Secondary
Circuit Malfunction

PO301
Cylinder 1
Misfire Detected

I have replaced all spark plugs and coils, reset the cpu, and continue to get this code. .When i did the plugs i foundthat the PCV elbow had a hole in it, and got that replaced. The engine runs rough intermittently,and it seems like its getting worse. Any help would be appreciated, She is finally paid off and dont wanna lose her!

one last thing, do tributes have a governer

Probably the ignition module then. Most parts stores check modules free if you take it in.

I had a similar issue, replacing the coil for that cylinder fixed the problem. Try swapping the coil from cylinder 1 with another cylinder and see what happens.

It is encorpoarated into the PCM on the V6. Have you checked the EGR circuit? They clog with carbon. Also i have seen a lot of bad aftermarket coils. It is very hard to say over the internet. You may want to take it in for diagnosis. Replacing parts is expensive.

i have an 02 tribute v6 po351 code have replaced coil and plugs,i have 12 volts on the pos side of plug and signal from pcm on other side, checked cps for olms and it is within range (369 olms),i even mowed the injector to another cyl to make sure that it was not bad and checked for comp and that the intake valves was openning. any sugestions

Check the light green wire with a white trace [LG/W ] it is on pin number 26. they mostly break right at the pcm connector or where the bend is. this wire is for no1 coil. hope this helps
