Smile Oil cooler nipple rusted through

Hi everyone -
I am new here, and yes I am a woman who is tired of being misled by repair shops. You need this, and that etc.
Here is my problem... I have a small coolant leak which I have found seeping from a rusted nipple coming off the oil cooler (where the oil filter is attached) Can anyone tell me how to remove the damaged one and put the new one on? Is there an exploded parts assembly diagram that I can acquire on here from someone or find online?

Thanks for any help with this problem... it is greatly appreciated!!!
Lu

Lu: I can't figure out your question. You say you have a coolant leak at the oil cooler nipple. But the oil cooler does not carry coolant, it has oil.
Can you post a picture?

Hi tanprotege -

Actually the oil cooler which the oil filter screws onto has two nipples/barbs that allow the coolant to flow in and then out to cool the oil. This was added on the V6 3.0L Mazda Tributes with a towing option. One of the angled nipple/barb has rusted through causing the leak.

I have ordered the new oil cooler part, and the two new small hoses. I just do not know the disassembly of the part. I know to remove the oil filter, but not sure from that point forward. I was hoping to find an exploded diagram o help me.

The part looks very similar to this Ford part... actually the Mazda Tribute 2004 was made by Ford that year. Same as the Ford Escape.

Now I get it .

I found this on e-bay:

there is this tube 6L626 that will hold the cooler to the block. Of course this is a version for another model. It will be obvious when you take it apart.
