Default Please help!!!!!

Hi, i'm new to the site. Love what i see. Glad i joined, anyways my question is very simple but complex. I have a 2006 Tribute. It did not come with DRL lights, so i had them activated. Done. I just found out about a Smart Junction Box box. I asked the dealership about the other option that came with it. They seem to not know what the he*# i was talking about. They called the Mazda service center and had an enginer tell then how to program my DRL lights.

I know that steps....my question is as follows:
1) what PROGRAMMING PARAMETERS are avaible ????//
2) what option are avaible for the keyless entry lights flashing confirmation??? other than the hold the lock and unlock to blink twice.. Ilike this when my lights blink twice. It gives it a Jeep Grand Cherokee Locking unlocking visual confirmation look style.
3) on the Remote starter kit, is there an option to get rid of the soft horn chip and make it honk like a factory lock chirp?

Please someone help me....or at least send me in the right direction to get help.

thanks
Jim

Do see there are any options for light flashing by changing a Programmable Parameter.
No change available for horn honk either. Here is the list for a 2006. There may be other items available on different level vehicles but these were from a 2006 4 cyl w/ automatic.

Here is the list of programmable parameters for 2006 Tribute.
HEADLIGHT BATTERY SAVER TIMEOUT... Setting can be 30 seconds or 10 minutes
(This adjusts the time period before headlights are automatically turn off after key removal.)
HEATED BACKLIGHT TIMEOUT... Setting can be 10 minutes or 15 minutes.
( Not positive but this should be the timeout for auto turn-off of the rear defroster.)
DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS...Setting is Equipped or Not equipped.
(This turns on headlights automatically or not when key is turned on)
FRONT FOG LIGHTS...Setting is Equipped or Not equipped.
(Should be self explanatory)
TURN SIGNAL SIDE MARKERS...Setting is Equipped or Not Equipped.
(This is for the little turn signals just ahead of the front doors )
BUTTON PRESS CHIME...Setting is Enable or Disable).
(No idea what this one is)
LANGUAGE...Setting is English or French.
(Again, No idea why you would change the language but maybe so ODO and TRIP is in French).
NOT IN PARK CHIME...Setting is Enable or Disable.
(Audible warning that you not in Park with engine not running?)
OIL LIFE...(Settings range from 5k miles/6 months to about 10 other options)
(Must be a dash warning light that will illuminate at selected interval)
PARK BRAKE CHIME...Setting is Enable or Disable.
(Audible warning if parking brake is left on and vehicle is moving.)
REVERSE WARNING CHIME...Setting is Enable or Disable.
(Audible warning when vehicle placed in Reverse gear, may only be for A/T as does not work on M/T))
TURN SIGNAL WARNING CHIME...Setting is Enable or Disable.
(Not sure on this one either???)
CENTRAL UNLOCK VIA KEY CYLINDER...Setting is Enable or Disable.
(Allows unlocking of all doors with drivers key cylinder or not)
2-STAGE LOCKING...Setting is Enable or Disable.
(Changes whether drivers lock opens first and then remaining locks with second press of remote)
POWER DOOR LOCK INHIBIT...Setting is Equipped or Not equipped.
( No idea on this one either )
PERIMITER ALARM...Setting is Enable or Disable.
(Turn off or on a perimiter alarm that will honk the horn if doors are unlocked with other than key or remote)
SPEED CONTROL...Setting is Present or Not present.
( Would be turned on or off depending upon if you have cruise control or not)
The last two are for setting up the tire size and final drive gear ratio. Unlikely you would ever change the gear ratio but if you did install tires of a different size than what it came with from factory you can enter that new tire size in so the speedometer remains accurate with larger or smaller tires.

Hi, guys! Sorry for butting in, but I prefer directly talking with knowledgeable people. Just wanna ask if the speed control or speed limiter is the same computer controlled thingy as the rev limiter. And I'm really confused about the plug in performance computer chips... cheap $25 ebay ones and some costing $999. I am lured by their promise of disabling the limiter, improved acceleration and overall performancebut am wary if it's something that's too good to be true or if it may even be harmful to the engine/computer.

2007 Tribute 3.0 V6

Many thanks!

No, sorry, the SPEED CONTROL parameter is not the limiter but only activating or deactivating the cruise control system. Do not know much about chips as I deal in only OE but would imagine that it goes with the old saying, "you get what you paid for" . $25.00???

This is a pretty old thread but lets see if I can spark it a little. I was wondering if there is a setting to have the fog lights turn on with the park lights? On my '99 B3000 Troy Lee Edition, this was enabled, I loved it. Is there a way to have this on the 2003 Tribute?
