Default Question about the perimeter alarm...

how the hell do I turn the darn thing on and off. Twice in my 2 years of ownership of my 02 Tribute has this happened. It was sensative enough that simply shutting the glove compartment would set it off. I could never figure out how I set it to go on, and then again for it to turn off. Lately my car has been being vandelized at work, and I would def. like for it to be on from now on. Any help?

Default RE: Question about the perimeter alarm...

According to Mazda, the system self arms when the doors, liftgate, liftgate glass and hood are closed and the key is off. The SJB (Smart Junction Box) monitors the status of all of these points, if it detects an open circuit it will energize the horn and flasher relays. possible one of these point's were not closed correctly, I cannot find anything on disabling the perimeter alarm system. Maybe someone else can offer more info.
