Default Rear window washer fluid

I have looked and looked and can not find a place to add washer fluid so that the squirter works on the rear window. Could there be a tube all the way from the front? I looked in the owner's manual and a couple of books, but maybe I am missing it.

2004 Trubute SUV, by the way...

In my 01 it runs from the front. If that reservoir is full, the back should work fine assuming all hoses, etc., are working properly.

On the wife's car it comes from the front tank.

Thanks. I'll look for two lines on the front tank. But maybe there is a "t" somewhere. Thanks for getting me started. Maybe compressed air will blow it out or reveal where it is leaking.

Problem solved. Just twist the switch for a long time, about 60 seconds continuously, to re-fill the line going to the back. Now it works fine. I would have thought it would have filled up earlier due to all of my messing around, but no. It took that one long shot to get 'er going.

Hi everyone,

I have the exact same problem at the moment, i have tried holding the switch on for 60 seconds but no luck. Can those who own a 2001 tribute answer a few questions please:

1) do you hear the pump running when you activate the rear winshield washer fluid switch? (mine is quiet)
2) Does the same pump that runs the front wipers do the rear also? (my front washer function is operational)
3) does anyone have the full service manual for the 2001 tribute?

Thank you for your time.

Default rear windsheild squirter not working on my 2002 mazda tribute

I have been trying to figure out what was wrong with it ! well today I removed the tube from the back squirter . There is a spring peice with a ball in it & it was clogged up with old gooky stuff , well I broke the peice removing it so be careful , but I hooked the hoses back together without the peice & it works great!
