Default Ridiculously expensive seatbelts

Hello all,

My dog recently chewed through my rear seat belts in my 2010 Maxda Tribute. Actually, she only chewed through one but ate the other. I'm having a baby in 2 months so I called a few dealerships to find out about getting them replaced and I have been told they are $275 each, plus labour. With taxes I'm looking at almost $800. Can any one suggest where I might find rear seat belts (new or used) for cheaper? I found a few websites online but they won't ship to Canada.

Also, since the Maxda Tribute is basically the same car as a Ford Escape, would I be safe to assume that they would take the same seat belts? Thanks for any help that you can give me.

There should be seatbelt companies who supply & fit aftermarket seatbelts. As I have no idea where in the world you are, you need to try Google.

A few years ago i got a seat belt from self serve junk yard for $7.05.

Call a few junk yards in your area. I bet the seat belts of almost any Ford Escape/ Mazda Tribute will fit. You might even get one with the correct color. You will pay more because they will pull it for you and your independent mechanic will charge an hourly fee. I guess you could get it done for about $100.

The best place for the dog is in the way back behind a barrier.

Be careful buying 2nd hand seatbelts, the car may of been in a crash, stressing out the seatbelts.

Its your life your gambling with.

Just my 2 cents.

Heatherbee, where in the world are you?
