2015 Mazda 2 misfiring on cylinder 4
My 2015 Mazda 2 sedan has been misfiring on cylinder 4 since December 2017, (possibly before that as it has been running rough since 20,000km) engine warning light has come on 3 times, over 4 months, so far. The car has only done 45,000km. My local Mazda dealer can not find the find the cause of the carbon build up which is causing the misfiring. They have swapped spark plug 3 and 4 over and told me to drive it till the warning light came on again, which it did. They have placed a cleaner though the engine to no effect, Local dealer indicated it may be the oil, but if it is the oil, why is the problem only in cylinder 4 , not all cylinders. Travelling a long distance of about 300km makes it worse. Does anyone have any ideas to help

Forgot about the sedan.
I know of "a" concern related to your engine related to valve springs & possible carbon build up.
Weather or not it involves your engine im not sure.
Ask your service department if they have lodged a Tech case with Mazda Australia.
Feel free to mention a valve spring issue you heard about online ( just don't mention me or this forum)

Thank you so much for your quick reply. It is making more sense now as the dealership mentioned they got a memo from Mazda regarding the same problem with other cars similar to mine, when I had my last service and they evidently did a heap of test the send back to Mazda, but have heard nothing yet. Will keep the valve spring issue handy and see what they come up with. Will up dated when I hear something, I'm sure my engine warning light will come up again before they get back to me. Thanks again

2009 Mazda 6 3.7 L I am also having the same problem
I'm having the misfire problem on 2 as well I have changed the plugs the coils checked compression, injector. Ran great for about 5 min then started to misfire
Took it in to get a diagnosis from the dealer the diagnosis machine did not read anything the first hour however the second hour it read misfire on injector 3 this was also changed. In addition this all started before pulling out of the shop parking lot after getting the state emissions passed.
