2016 Mazda 2 - Aftermarket reverse camera
Hi!
I'm looking for some help with installing an aftermarket reverse camera into a 2016 Mazda 2 DJ1. AI've aready spent some time searching around for an answer but most of the tutorials and manuals are for older models and I have a feeling that some things have changed.
The car came with only a basic radio, so I've purchased an aftermakert head unit with a reverse/backup camera. I've installed both buth the reverse camera refuses to trigger when I put the car in reverse.
I've tested the camera separately and it's working fine, so the problem is with the reverse signal itself. The head unit came with a canbus adapter which should handle the reverse signal too but looks like it's having problems with that. For eg. the steering wheel controls are working fine so the CANBUS adatpter is working at least to some degree but no reverse signal. I've double checked this with a multimeter and an oscilloscope too, no signal at all on the supposed reverse wire.
Any suggestions how could I get a reverse signal either from the canbus adapter or from any other source? I know that the usual way is to highjack the +12V straight from the reverse light but I don't wan to mess with hatch door just for a single wire. I tried looking for the reverse light's connection in the driver kick panel but no luck so far from just probing around and I haven't been able to find any wiring diagrams for this model.
Thanks!
