Default Folding wing mirrors problem?

Myt wifes 2015 M2 wing mirrors are playing up.They won't always fold. or open.
I had a look, and the left (nearside) one folds ok, but the driver's side starts to fold and then stops until manually folded in.
Has anyone else had this problem, that can help me please?

I don't have a specific solution for you but personally, I'd start with stripping the wing mirror down to the mechanism to see what I find. It might just want cleaning or some lubrication. Or it could be broken or stripped teeth on the gears, not sure.

Alternatively you could try to just swap the mirror out for a genuine replacement or one from a scrap yard.

Default Mirrors

We have a Mazda CX3 2017, and we have had problems with the mirrors for about 2 years and it has been back to be checked and they did something to make them work but would not say what they did.
Unfortunately they are not working again and we've been waiting for them to take the car in again.
I know of a 2 year old MX5 that is the same.
Watch this space.

Most likely the actuators have water damage. Mazda can replace them.

Sorry for the very late reply guys.
I haven't really done much apart from squirt a bit of WD40 a while back.
They've been ok since then (crossing my fingers)
I'll take it into my garage if presents a continual problem
Thank you for the replies.
