The magazines are going to be a ton more accurate than random people on the internet.

I haven't actually taken the time, but I know my 2.0L is SLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW for my liking....I may trade in next year for the Speed3 to get decent performance. (FWIW...I don't consider the Speed3 incredibly fast either....my opinion of fast is any car able to get to 60 mph in under 5 seconds. Anything over 7 seconds is SLOW IMO.)

It's all a matter of perspective...I've got a friend with over 1000hp in a 1968 Bronco (13:1 comp ratio 408 w/2 stages of Nitrous....now that's fast.)

I love those old Broncos. 1000 HP!!! that would make a Bronco fast, scary fast and a hell of a mudbogger...

It's a dune machine....way too nice for mud.

Here's a nice wheelie pic I pulled from one of the videos. (uphill, in the sand at Silver Lake, MI) He wasn't even into the Nitrous in this pic (~734 hp on just motor)
