light car benefits from a light flywheel, id only recommend going with a not as heavy flywheel IF your car was turbo and doing autocross or road racing, since its not go for it when u get the bank.

DreadPir8, I would say then that you have bad luck. I was/am a very aggressive driver with no problems but downshifting isn't going to hurt the clutch or transmission (so long as you let it out quickly and completely and don't miss a shift). That's what it is made for. Not only that downshifting greatly prolongs your brake life. It's when you ride it, i.e starting from a stop. Thats when the most damage occurs. Once you hit that friction point, give it gas and let it out. Also keeping your foot on the clutch pedal even slightly while driving can do damage. Just little things to keep in mind. I know what its like to develop bad habits. It's twice as hard to kick em once you got em.

I hear ya about the bank. This money stuff doesn't grow on trees. Though it seems to for the wall street crooks, but thats another story.
