Default 2008 Clock Problem

I just bought a used 2008 Mazda3 and am having problems with getting the clock to set. I do not have the trip computer, just the standard clock/temp display.

When I press CLOCK, I get the next screen which shows 12hr<>24hr, I can get past that to where it says HR ADJUST and also MIN ADJUST, but using the two buttons referenced in the manual will not change either the hours or the minutes. I am able to set the clock back to the top of the hour, but very frustrating not being able to adjust to the correct time.

I saw where there was a tech advisory about the 2006 Mazda3 clock, and mine is behaving the same way.

Any thoughts or ideas? Anyone have similar issue? Any idea how much this might cost to replace as the vehicle is out of warranty.

Thanks!
