ORIGINAL: SILVERSP33D

There were supposedly 5,000 U.S.-bound Mazdaspeed3's for the 2007 model year. What is the allotment for 2008?
Has anyone heard/read any information/updates that can answer the question above?

I can't actually confirm it, but I would think the same is true of the '08's as the 07's.... 5000.
It's a "limited" addition car, and is only liable to be around for another year or two (which certainly means that I'll miss out on it .) Afterall, the MS6 is now a goner. That's what Mazda does.
5000 sounds about right to me. I believe the same was true of the MSP's?

I wish that Mazda would release official numbers; that they haven't might suggest production numbers higher than 5,000. I'm hoping 5,000 is right, as us MS3 owners would certainly benefit from both resale value and relative exclusivity. I'm sure you'd be able to find a pre-owned one, once you're in the market for an MS3, Richard. And you have enough car knowledge to tell if the car was cared for or not.

Well... I BS my way through it, at least.

Thanks, but they way things are now, I'll be driving mine till the world ends I think... and that's only a few years away anyway. (Prediction: 2012?)

So... 6 months later, I still haven't read any official announcements abouthow many 2008 Mazdaspeed3 units are made available in the U.S. Like Lupae, I also inquired about this with Mazda USA,but have yet to receive a reply.[sm=sigh.gif]I'm still hoping for 5,000 - same as 2007.

Anyones recomendations/coments on the K&N air filter for an 08 MazdaSpeed3? Good idea or not? I cant notice anything real different right off the bat but perhaps a slightly better acceleration. Just put one in and there are a lot of mixed reviews... People have said its a small MPG gain but if anyone knows something special let me know, thanks
