2009 air conditioning question
I got my 09 mazda 3 this past march and of course this is the first summer that ive tested out the a/c. My air conditioning system seems to be horrific, the air isnt cold and the whole experience as a whole is weak... it seems like id get more relief with just opening the windows which is pretty pathetic. I just wanted to know is weak, tired air conditioning systems normal for mazda 3's or should i get mine checked out. #2 if the a/c systems on mazda 3's are notoriously weak and for ****.... has anyone recognized a change for the better with the 2010 mazda 3's ? thanks

I live in STL where is generally lower 90's with 70-80% humidity. I tend the use the A/C taking outside air in first till its somewhat cool and then switch it over to re-circ and that seems to work the best the air comes out for me pretty cold.
You could always go buy a charge kit from advaced or auto zone and get the r-134a "Super Cold" sh*t i think has a polar bear on it with snow flakes and you could just leak your old refridgerant stuff out and totally recharge it with the "Super Cold" stuff and see if that works.

I agree.
I live in So.Cal, and the last month the temp has been near or over 100 degrees.
My air has always blown cold as soon as the car has run for about 20 seconds.
There is something wrong with your system.
Take it to the dealer before running the air unit again.
You may do damage that the warranty will not cover.
Bob.

Hey Bob. Up here in Canada, we just use our a/c for defrosting the windshield.
All jks aside, a/c is weak in my 07. Works better with tinted windows. Works good after being on for ahwile. Does not work great idling or around the city. Just highway.

I have tinted windows all around, and maybe that is one reason it cools fast.
Don't know but, I have never had a problem with it not working correctly.
Most of the time once it has been on for a while, I need to lower the fan speed, and raise the temp setting.
It blows very cold.
If a problem developed, the first thing I would look for is a leak in the system, then check the evaporator and radiator for debri that could intefere with the cooling.
Obviously with the car under warranty, the dealer would be the best choice.
