Exclamation 2010 Mazda 3 Hatch Locking Issue

Hello. I am new to this forum mainly because of my wife's daily driver. We accidentally found out tonight that even when we lock her car with the fab or the lock button on the inside of the car, the trunk will not lock. It will open and the alarm will go off. That's pretty sketchy to me... Any insight on what to do? I bought the car for her pre certified but I have a feeling John Hine Mazda will try and pull some stupid BS on me and charge me. All thoughts are greatly appreciated!

Patrick

Lock the car with the remote, take the remote 5 meters away from the car then try the boot.

On some Mazda models the car senses the remote when you walk up to the boot and unlock the boot ready for you to open it.

Most likely the trunk latch/actuator assembly has a problem. I would look closely at the wiring harness where it runs along the trunk lid to the back of the trunk since it has to bend everytime the trunk is opened.
