2010 mazda3 corroded molex connector, hurricane help
Hi Folks!
reaching out here to find a solution to my friend's issue.
she lives in bahamas, has a newtoher 2010 mazda 3 that was 'under the weather', as they say.
she sent me pics of a molex plug and socket that they think is preventing car from starting. looks like an under dash connection. what i do see is a lot of green residue inside the disconnected molex connector. i suppose its copper corrosion.
what i'm hoping for is a quick fix, since most likely, it's not just a part that can be replaced.... probably just an interconnect between wire harnesses that are part of the car.
years ago we used to use something like crc contact cleaner. anyone here have experience with rejuvenating contacts like this?
Gail bought the care in the states 3 weeks ago, and now the hurricane killed her only transpo.
please, put your thinking caps on, let me know what's possible, ya?
thanks for your time,
seekertom

Hopefully someone with better knowledge than me will follow.
I feel for the troubles your friend and everyone else impacted by the storm in the Bahamas have endured. As bad as a hurricane hitting the US can be, at least in the US, people can retreat inland, an option not available to those in the islands.
I would doubt the connector is the extent of her electrical problems, however, I would call a Florida auto parts store and perhaps a marine supply company for suggestions. I bet they see this all the time.
Good luck.
