About mark up?

RE: About mark up?
I own an '04 so not the Speed 3, but have read stories from others tht go both ways. It seems to depend on the dealer and regional location. Some are paying MSRP (list) while others are having to pay a "dealer" markup.

RE: About mark up?
I think the majority of people are getting them for MSRP, a select few have paid more and one guy says he paid $1,000 under MSRP. The dealer where I got mine was originally asking $3,000 over MSRP but when my deal fell through on a standard GT they were easily convinced to sell me the on sitting on the ship at the port for MSRP. Part of me wishes that I would have explored a lower price, but I couldn't wipe the drool off of my face to speak. The non-GT Speed 3 they had sat on the lot for quite a while so it seems like people want the GT making the price of the non-GT more negotiable. All you can do is walk away and see what they will do. Get a quote from another dealership and see if they will match it.

i drove a speed 3 a while back and i know what you'resaying about the drooling after the drive. very tempting, but i still won't pay MSRP and they won't come down. unfortunately, mazda has no rules for dealer mark-up like toyota and nissan do.

I bought my speed3 sport for $800 under msrp. I wanted the gt but the dealer only had the sport available for immediate delivery. On my way out the door they offered the reduced price. Bought it at Wellsley Mada Massachusetts. Love it so far.

you should definitely NOT have to pay dealer markup, don't do it. the "premium" which was originally put on the cars due to limited edition and demand is gone, so you can totally negotiate for MSRP or slightly below which is what I paid. it's an amazing car, i have the sport model, it's crazy fast and handles great. good luck!
