Access Port

Access Port
I am looking into purchasing an access port for my 2012 Mazdaspeed3. I was wondering how easy it is to install and if I need to do anything else to my car before or after I Install it (new intake, exhaust etc.) I've done some research and keep finding that at stage 1 I don't need to make any changes when adding an access port, but stage 2 requires more upgrades. Any help would be appreciated

The AccessPort is an ECU re-mapping tool. I bought one for my 2008 Mini Cooper and it made a HUGE difference in the power output of the motor - it added 20 HP and about 30 ft. lbs. of torque - VERY nice improvements indeed!
Basically it is a small device about the size of a cell phone. You attach it to your PC and download performance maps for your car's ECU. You then plug it into your car's OBDII port and install a map, takes about 1 minute total.
Once you are done, you can disconnect the AccessPort and put it away. Or you can leave it attached if you'd like to make use of the various "gauges" and such that it provides. Long story short: it will increase the horsepower and torque of a turbo equipped vehicle by allowing for more boost than the factory setup.
I absolutely loved what it did for my Mini and if I had a MazdaSpeed 3 it would be the very first thing I'd buy....
