Default Aerial is poor

I have a Mazda 3 sport, it has a shark fin aerial and the F.M reception is really poor, is this common?

I have a shark fin antenna that I got off of visualgarage.com, and I have no problems with it. The FM shouldn't be a problem at all, only the AM may have a few they told me. Maybe something came lose inside? or Wasn't put on correctly?

well with my shark fin antenna, when i put it on there was an adhesive that came with it that keeps it on the roof of the car, so most likely with yours there is an adhesive. You may have to try and get it off somehow, not sure how you would though. Maybe an autoparts store might sell something to help get it off if you ask them. After its off, you'll probably have to buy more adhesive that they sell at autoparts store to reattach the antenna

After i put my shark fin on my reception got worse. I don't care anymore, because i use my ipod now. When i did listen to the radio, it was irritating not getting reception when i should have been getting it.

The things we do to make our cars look better, I just use the Sirius more on my Pick Up since I shaved the antennae on it, and I even hid the antennae for it.

You can buy an FM signal booster that goes inline with the antenna and fits under the dash. They work well.
