Okay, I am terrible with directions. Actually, I never get lost, but I always turn the wrong way on the correct street, so I end up doing U-Turns a lot (Which the 3 handles like it ain't Sh*t!)

The Auto dimming rear view mirror with a compass is something I need despeartely. I have it on the dodge Ram I drive for work and it saves me from doing a lot of u turns in a big truck.

On Mazda.com they say it costs 160 for the one i want, and 40 for the installation kit. Thats 200 bucks for a damn compass! I don't care about the auto dimming, but I want the compass! Is there any way I can either A) get it for cheaper somewhere or B) But a third party one that is just as good.

I don't want to buy one of those cheap walgreenes ones where you stick it on the dash board. It will take away the elegant look of the 3. I want a digital one in the actual mirror. Is there anywhere I can go? My dealer is trying to work out a discount deal but you know how they are....Help!

 

Why not get a portable GPS unit that can go anywhere with you?

 

Yeah, if i got 200 dollars to spare, i'd get a GPS unit.

I actually got a free garmin Nuvi 360 navagation system with my 3. But its kind of impratical to use it on simple things.

I just get turned around a lot in the city (Chicago) There are a lot of streets that go nw or se and it is easy to get confused. A compass is perfect. I don't want to stop and type in new directions everytime i get turned around. The GPS system is used for long trips or visiting somewhere i don't know in the suburbs.

Any good suggestions?
