Almost WRECKED MY CAR!!
i need to replace my side view mirror (left) manual mirror. I also need to replace my left drivers side window how much would this cost? where should i go to get this done.
i was driving on the highway and a metro geo type car was in the middle lane the sec i start passing it in the right lane i hear the tire pop on the sht box that was driving and starting pulling to the right towards me i hit the brakes and the other car swung all the way to the right hitting my side view mirror and i need to change the drivers side window because it got scrapes in it from the mirrors glass bouncing off to the window.

RE: Almost WRECKED MY CAR!!
Is it the entire housing that's broken or just the glass? I know heated glass for a power mirror goes for about $41/side, and a heated/power full replacement goes for about $100. I don't know the exact price for non-heated ones but it's not too much cheaper iirc than the heated ones. Not sure on what it would be for manual mirrors though.
How does the manual mirror position itself? Is there a little **** on the inside or do you move the glass by touching it? If there's a little **** then I doubt there's any difference in the glass between power/manual and it should still connect via the three ball joints shown here.
Random question for you. Is there a wiring harness going towards the mirror behind the triangular panel at the front of the door? Shown here.
I'm wondering if the car isn't wired for power mirrors and just has the manual mirror/frame on the car. If there is one there how many wires are in it. If there's one there then I wonder if there's a plug inside the door panel for the mirror controls.
I'll check with Jason at www.onlinemazdaparts.com as to part pricing.

RE: Almost WRECKED MY CAR!!
i baught a hole assembly with the mirror off ebay for 25$ and there arent any ball joints there is a black circle thing and either that the ball joints ripped off with the mirror or manual mirrors go on different. Even if there was wires for the mirrors to be power i wouldn't spend my money to make them power mirrors since once i set them they stay at the same spot i'd rather spend it on getting a rear view mirror.

RE: Almost WRECKED MY CAR!!
too much work for a dam mirror ...police would hav to com bla bla bla and i should have pulled over cuz i tapped my brakes and let tht person just run right off the road and hit the fence with bushes and sht ethically i should have got out the car to see if that person was ok but i didn't want to be involved with police reports so i said fck it.
