Amps and Subwoofer question
Hello can somebody help me out with a couple questions on installing an amp and subs? I have a friend that is willing to sell me his amp:Boss CX1250 and subs:Sony XS-GTR120L for $100, free installation. It's a really good deal, I'm just not sure if those two are compatible together and if those are in general compatible with my current stock car stereo deck. I have a 2011 Mazda 3i Touring.

all u need to do is go to ur local audio store and tell them u need a converter for the a/c cables to hook into ur stock stereo wiring harness, then look up the wiring diagram for ur stereo and hook the adaptor into ur stereo's wiring harness and the rest is the normal installation for ur amp and subs

Well most amps are compatible with subs. Just depends on how much boom you want. Like for example I have 2 12" Clarions (rated at 1200W max each) with an 800 W Pioneer Monoblock amp and it pounds hard. Now will you be changing the deck or tapping into the rear speakers. I have a sticky on this forum for putting a sub/amp combo onto a stock deck with the LOC. Now personally for car audio subs Sony are not the greatest by any means. Home audio they are fantastic just not for cars. I had a sony Xplod in my car and it lasted 2 hours lol. But then again I want it loud and banging not just some little bits of bass kind of deal. If you have any questions on sub install I'd be more then happy to answer as I've changed everything in my car for my audio.

I've just updated/modified my 2012 mazda 3 audio.
I kept the factory headunit ( Bluetooth & sat nav )
I used a Audio Control LC6i, it takes the 4 channels from the factory headunit and provides 6 channels RCA.
Line Output Converter - LC6i

For the best way to go wanting to put subs in and keep the stock look that is the best way to go. Hell I still would have but the stock deck started being a pain in the *** and cd's would get stuck and the sound quality now is amazing. I'm so glad I switched to a deck.
