Default Auto Start

Hey guys, I got another dilema and challenge for those who like a challenge....here it goes:
well I wanna install an auto start on my 2007 mazda3, i bought one of those lcd alarms with the 2way pager. anyway the mechanic said I would have to lose my spare key because the mazda3 requires that the key be in the ignition for it to start etc....well getting a third key is way too expensive for me. so I thought no one but my Mazda peeps will be able to help there. is there a way to overide this without needing an extra key to put under the dash? anyone did anything similar has any ideas? I would really appreciate it. thanks

If the key is coded then it would be very difficult to wire around as the PCM,Theft deterent module and key are coded together and if it does not see the key code it will not run. If it is just a matter of there having to be a key in the ignition then there is a small micro switch on the ignition switch that can be bypassed easily.

There is no way to bypass. I tried as well, and I had to buy a spare key, sucks but it is the only way. It is the way they are built.

I found something on Ebay that stops the system as long as the auto start is running then once the key is in,the system is back to normal. Cost around $40 including shipping......http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=150163862910

Mazda offers a remote start system, but it can only be used on ATX cars.
You may have trouble getting an AM system to work properly.

is that the same with all remote starts? i've never heard of a spare key within the dashboard for auto ignition. my dad's ford windstar (we call it the batmobile.. haha!) has auto start. does he also have the same setup? or does it depend on the type of car and the brand of the auto start?

you can have autostart on manual cars too, but it has to be in neutral for it to work

How would you override the clutch cutoff switch and the electronics that go along with it?
