Is it bad to turn your steering wheel all the way to right or left?
Hi everybody!
Im a owner of the Mazda 3 /2004/ 1.6i manual. The car has a hydraulic rack. Quite often I've heard it's bad to turn the steering wheel all the way to right or left, because overloading hydraulics?! To me happens from time to time to turn the steering wheel all the way to the limit, especially when parallel parking (when I'm trapped between two cars and want to go out). The my steering wheel of my car feels extra light and rotates very easy to the limit.
When I turn the steering wheel all the way I hear something like a knock in the steering system, as if there is something like detents the steering wheel.
Is there provided a some mechanical limit (detent) of the wheel in order not to overload hydraulics?
Is it dangerous for my steering system to turn the wheel all the way?
