Bose door speaker - '05 3
One of my door speakers has a vibration on loud bass notes. Does anyone know if an off-the-shelf Bose speaker works as a replacement? Or is this a purpose-built, acoustically designed unit only available from Mazda?
Thanks.
Thanks.

You should make sure its your speaker is blown before you try to replace it. A good way to find that out other than looking at it is download a bass test track, this way your can actually determine if your speaker is bad or if it was just a poorly recorded track on your cd, ipod, or radio.
If you want to find out if there is an replacement from bose, find the product number that should be located on the magnet. I just did a quick search on other people who might have done this and all have said that bose system is a joke, its suggested to upgrade instead of replace.
Heres one example of someone who just replaced the front speakers and was more than happy.

I talked with a friend that has the system in his and he lost all 4 speaker in 17 minutes (Ina-Gadda-Da-Vidda) and replaced his with a Comparable Infinity. He had it done and can't remember what speakers they were, but they were Infinity.

I am way beyond the age where cranking it up is important.
These crappy speakers (the front ones) are both blown, and I have not gotten around to changing them.
For sure, infinity won't be the replacement.
As for the Bose in my Mazda, I think the sound is fantastic.
Bob.
