busted mazda 3

Wow. It is almost criminal to do that to a 3. It had to have been wrecked somewhere else, towed and deposited there. If you could pick it up for a song I think it would make for an interesting project car, specially if the frame happens to be straight. The only way to verify that is to put it on a rack. I think it all depends on what you could pick it for.

I assume that you're talking about the hole in the passenger side...that would be from the front bumper of the truck that hit me. I think he was trying to be a can opener...

haha yeah, that's the hole I'm talkin about
Well, at any rate, any idea, complete guesses, on how much it would cost to fix this up?
I think it'd be a fun project car, but I don't have the resources for that, so I'm thinking about just making it a Daily Driver
Of course it's tough to give an estimate of cost with just these pictures (I haven't tried opening the hood and contacting the owner is near impossible), I'd like some ballpark numbers. Someone on the HCF (hondacivicforum) seems very convinced it can be worked with...said he had a saab 9-3 with very similar damages

judging by these pictures, anyone able to put together a list of possible parts I would need? I would like to start window shopping, trying to put some figures together in my head. I don't need any racer replacements or anything, stock or close to would be fine.
Hopefully assuming the radiator and everyhting under the hood is in working condition

Well, to put it in perspective, I got an estimate to repaint the front of my car. It's a very good body shop in a small town around here, but their paint is exceptionally good. $2200-$2500, prep, but no additional bodywork. They estimated to do the whole body for in the neighborhood of $5k.
Headlights alone are $300 ea. from a dealer, or around that for the pair used. Then there are the fog lights, which can be tough to find and expensive. The A/C condenser appears damaged too. Pushed up and it looks like a hole straight through it.
There would be a lot to replace on this car, SP. Then you don't know what condition the drivetrain is in either. It looks like the guy modded it and possibly raced it in some form or another.
Was it owned/driven by a 16 yr old? Do they have service records? It appears to be an '06, but after the repairs and a lot of $$$ it won't be worth much except as a DD and only if you use it for a long time.
You sure about this? It's probably not worth it, even if the frame is straight. Perhaps if you knew the owner of the car and how it was before the accident, but w/o at least that, leave it to the rust.

Just from Visual damage you have near $2800 in the Major parts, now you could save money getting parts from a wrecking yard and that was not counting stuff that I can not see and small brackets and such, which can add up quickly.
Then you will still have Labor to R&R the pieces and paint costs so to take it to a shop you are looking at probably 5-6000 to repair, and that is without any frame damage.
