Default Cabin Air Filter

Hiya,

Does anyone know how often you have to change the cabin air filter on a Mazda 3??

Is it really necessary to even do this?

Thanks!

Here is a step by step, with pictures how to change the filter. Yes it is necessary to do this as the poster shows the dirty filters and the new filters. I do not have a cabin air filter because i was not offered on the 05's. The steps to change it make me happy not to have one, but the way the used filters look make me wish i had one. Good luck

Thanks!

I think I'd rather pay the $90 at the dealership and have THEM change it.

$90$$$$$$$
I assume this is U.S.
I went to my dealer (ontario, canada) to pick one up. I was having my oil changed anyways, so I asked the dealer how much.
19.95 for the filter........19.95 for the labour. All for 40 bucks. They did while I waited. Thats with the oil change and tire rotation.
(Wish I asked to see the old filter)
They say in my book. Change every 40,000 kms.

Bottom line. 90 seems a little steep.

Thanks for all that info!!

I'm also in Ontario... not sure why they'd charge so much for it.
