I have driven other Mazda' and love them, but can not stand the dial after many hours of driving. I really like the Mazda 3 but the dial is a deal breaker for me. My question is though, are there any aftermarket ways of installing a touchscreen capatible device instead? Preferably one that could both operate with touch and the dial as both options.

Although I installed a touchscreen headdeck in my partners 2002 Protege, I still prefer dials. I have to keep a frikken microfibre cloth in the glovebox to wipe the screen all the time cause of the fingerprints. Trust me its annoying as hell. The best audio controls are ones at the steering wheel just to control volume. Apple car play is also a great feature to have so you can listen to your favourite playlist for driving so you just skip when the song gets repetative.

You can basically install anything in your car so long as you can afford it. I paid about 450 for my headdeck cause it was on special from 599. The days of cutting wires to fit car audio are gone as Aeropro sell wiring loom adapaters so its a plug and play situation. The only caveat is the facia. Post a pic of where your stereo sits and ill let you know what to look for.
