Default Cigarette Lighter ?

Is there a way to change your cigarette lighter to still have power even when your car is not on?

yep, just pull the plug part of the lighter outand run a wire from where the power wire was straight to the battery. you might need a resistor, but i don't think that you do.

You shouldn't need a resistor. Any step down in voltage would be done by the power adapter on whatever device you're using. It's 12V at the battery, so that's all you need.

I would however suggest adding an inline fuse though.

Definatly put a fuse on it, I've seen many a hack wiring go up in smoke, but it's not hard to do it.
