Default cold air intakes

I'm thinking about buying an intake and i can't deside what to get ... what intake is most liky to screw with the check engine light and what inake is the least... I've been hearing good things about K&N and AEM. I would really like to hear from the ppl who have them installed.

maybe you can throw in some sound clips
Thanks in advance

i put a custom cold air intake first then it got messed up in a car wash, so i got the short ram K&N intake. you'll tell a diff when you put it on.. the check engine light comes on if you drop your MAS.. that is what i did and i just put the stock stuff back on and got a new MAS.. so go ahead and get it, i bet you'll like.. layters

From the research I have done, I have it narrowed down to the K&N Typhoon CCA or the MazdaSpeed CAI if I can manage to get my hands on one. Injen is a bitch to get in Canada and shipping costs are way too high just to cross the boarder.

The K&N Typhoon can be configured as both a CAI and a short ram, there is a removable pipe to make the conversion.

I am heading up to my local Mazda dealership this afternoon to pick their brains about doing a MazdaSpeed CAI and Exhaust on my 2.0

Seems the MazdaSpeed CAI was only for the 2.3, but I still want it

Just remember, car washes with the water jets that shoot up from the floor can cause some real damage to the CAI and the engine, causing hydrolocking, so just be careful!

Does anyone have a problem with their check engine light coming on, and I was looking on AEM's website they have an air bypass valve, what exactly would that do? I was looking into getting the AEM CAI, but i'm not positive about the CEL coming on and then i would need to switch it out for the stock one once a year for emissions testing.

don't get it, we had a Mazda6 owner buy a CAI for an 05 Manual and his was an 06 auto and it didn't work. If it doesn't say it's meant to work with your car, it doesn't work with your car. The sensor angle, placement, and etc. could casue your car to not hold idle or even start untill you went back to stock unless you buy the right one.

i installed an AEM cold air intake on my 05 Mazda3 at about 7,000 miles. i haven't had a problem with it since and i got over 30k on it now. the filter runs right in front of the driver front tire and doesn't have a bypass. i have never had any problems with suckin up water with it. my check engine light hasn't come on since installation. i'll take a pic of the intake today and upload tonight on here.
