Default Dealer - After Market Service

I have received a couple of quotes from my local dealer for the following services:

Window Tinting - Just under $200. Has anyone had this done by the dealer? Are you happy with the results? The dealer is giving a 5 yr. warranty.

Dynamatting (Floor board, doors, and trunk)- $1,000.Any comments, other than how much weight this will add?

Thanks!!!

thats a pretty good price on the tint...however, if the dealer is doing it, Id assume they have to keep the % legal, so you probably wont be getting dark at all. Legal tint is almost nothing!!

$200 for tint isn't bad, however I'd look around and check the tint shops in your area, as most tint places will give a lifetime warranty with their work. And as to how dark...... the legal percentage varies by state, so you may still be able to get dark (if that's what you're looking for) from the dealer. Also the dealer may not do the tint themselves. Many dealers contract out to a traveling tinter who just goes dealer to dealer and tints cars.

My roommate owns a tint shop and with tint YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!!!

For $100-$200 you will get to lowest quality tint the shop has, and many times will purple within a few years. If you want a GOOD tint job, with good tint expect to pay closer to $250-$300. If you can get Formula One tint. It is some of the best on the market

1+!!! I've learned that the hard way-u get what u pay for..... as with anything....A friend of mine does my tinting and for the amount of business we've given him it cost almost 200$ for all 7 windows on the 3-for the past 11 years I've had the same dude tint all my personal cars and our wholesale cars... although he does it by hand-big name guys cant even come close because they use cheap tint-which as stated above turns purple with air bubbles and you might as well not have gotten it at all. If you own a beautiful looking car like the M3/MS3 why not spend the money and get it done right-you can't lose then.....

thats good info. I would love to get my windows done. Nice dark black with the TruRed color. Awsome look, except there are too many Cops in NE Ohio that just love passing out $100 donation cards.
