Yes, the "flying wing" does have alignment posts, as does the "Mazda" part of the Mazda3 on the trunk.

damn it, i wanted to take the emblem off. My response is Why Why Why.... would you put holes in the sheet metal when u can just stick it on...

yea i was thinkin of having the back shaved up as well... might as well just paint the emblems then.. less headache..

BUTTT since we're on this subject... even if we wanted to take off the emblem, how would we do it? its clipped on.. how would i removed it without damaging something? and please dont tell me i would have to remove the trunk latch panels to unclip the damn things..?

So that the badge is aligned straight. Keep in mind that the average cycle time in an assembly plant for a person to do their job is anywhere from 40-60 seconds, and putting that badge on most likely isn't their only job to get done in that time. (That's true for all manufacturers.)

hell some places where they put the car together have it on already. i noticed while i was inspecting grilles that they already have the emblem put on the car before anything else sometimes
