Pull the code (OBDII reader)and find out why the light is on....It may have nothing to do with your CAI.

Only way it would reduce the power is if it put the fuel system into limp mode (would be very obvious as the car would run like absolute crap.)

Also make sure your gas cap is on tight. That can trip a code.

You should be able to go to Auto Zone or some such as most of them will read your codes for free. That way the dealer won't find out about your CAI and try to void your warranty.

Incidentally if you do end up going to the dealer remove the CAI first and reinstall the stock airbox.

I ran into a similar problem with I installed my CAI, however that code i started throwing Ironically after installed it and it said "coolent temp unstable operation for regulating thermostat" It was something along thoes lines. Happen to me all the time in the winter. Our little 4 cyl engines require alot more than you think to heat or cool our cars. So, putting a cold air on will make the engine take a slightly little bit longer to heat up to normal operating temp and that extra time throws a CEL because its a mazda, if you blow on a sensor wrong you'll throw one. Thats one thing I've learend about newer mazdas they are so damn sensitive and touchy.
