DS2 or H7?

RE: DS2 or H7?
Easy answer.
If you have the Sport model (as I seem to remember you do) and no factory HID's it takes the H7, or H7 JHID conversion KIT.
If you own a GT and it has factory HID's the D2S is the correct bulb for the low beams.

Of the 35w HID's I've looked into, 8K's produce about 2800 lumens, whereas 6K's produce upward of 3000. 4.5-5K's produce even more (3200,) cause less eye strain andmake it easier to see in all weather conditions. They are not yellow unless they have a coating on the bulb envelope. They produce a pure white light output, but they do not produce the blue light that "looks" cool either.
Instead of trying to look cool while reducing your headlightoutput why not do the blue RockBlockers instead?I have these on my fogs and my headlights. They look great turned on or off, protect the headlamp lens, and do not affect the output or color of your headlights.
Then get yourself some 5K's which should be legal everywhere, whereas the higher rated HIDs usually aren't, and offer much better lightingand are a much more practical solution. You'll still have a blue/rainbow effect from the outer edges of the light pattern (i.e. ppl will still know that you have HIDs) w/o the loss of output caused by a higher kelvin color rating.

RE: DS2 or H7?
the reason i asked was cuz i was gettin HIDz for the car.. i got 8000k,, not bad.. only thing concerning me was that it was harder to get the HID bulbs in cuz of different fitment. they ARE H7's but im talking bout the rubber housing behind the bulb. the guy said this si the orblems with some HIDs. they sometimes dont fit the way theyre supped to. the right is in firmly, but the light is pointed to the ground. the left side is a little loose but its pointed up the correct way. im gonna ahve to look into it.

SpeeDy,
The Mazda's, for some unknown reason to me, uses a bulb adapter on the back of the H7 halogen bulb, which effectively make the back of the bulb deeper. If you've bought a universal H7 HID conversion kit, it probably doesn't have a new adapter. Few seem to offer proper kits for these cars and they are expensive.
I have read that many have this problem when converting.
I read where one guy used the original adapters, but had to modifythem to make them HID bulbwork. Thismeans if he decides to remove the kit (i.e. State inspection or trade-in) he will have to purchase new ones from Mazda to reinstall the halogen bulbs... around $12 ea.
