EVAP System Leak - '07 3 2.0
Hey guys,
I have a 2007 3 with the 2.0 liter, with about 117k. I pulled off the highway the other day and pulled up to a stop light. The car was in neutral and my foot was off the clutch and she "coughed" on me. The tach dropped a couple hundred rpm and then came back up. Shortly after the check engine light came on. When I ran the codes it came up P0171 (System Too Lean Bank 1) and P0455 (EVAP Emission Control System Leak - Large). Apparently it seems that the EVAP system is above the "rear end" of the car.
Do I really have to dig under there to fix the problem? And if I do, is there anything else I should replace while I'm in there considering I do have 117k? I would really like to avoid going to the stealership.
Thanks

yes the evap system is above the rear end of the car, your not gonna find the problem in a day unless you have access to a smoke machine. I have about the same amount of mileage on my 3 and havent had an evap code, so i dont know what is common to fail under there, i could tell you what could fk up engine wise haha
