Default headlight issue

Hey guys, Having a little issue with headlight brightness. I bought some Nokya bulbs to throw in figuring they would give a little better look without dropping $100 on an HID kit. bulbs went in no problem but I now notice that my driver side is not nearly as bright as the passenger side. I pulled the rubber cover off and made sure the little metal clamp was secure to make sure the bulb wasn't just slightly out of line or anything. That didn't help, and I'm pretty sure it's not electrical because all the connections are fine. It almost seems like there's something in the area where the bulb actually sits that may be obstructing the light. Any ideas? and I obviously made sure the light case on both sides was clean before investigating further.

Thanks again

Make sure the alignment tab of the lamp is lined up with the notch on the back of the projector.

Ok that sounds like it may be the problem...can you elaborate on what exactly you mean and how to fix that problem?

The base of the H7 lamp is round for 3/4 of the circumference, and flat on the last 1/4 with a tab. That tab is designed to fit into a notch in the back of the projector. It serves to keep the lamp aligned and to stop it from rotating once installed. Sometimes if the tab isn't in the notch it will make the lamp go in at an angle vs. 90 degrees to the lens. That can cause a weird beam pattern and the appearance of emitting less light.

Here's a pic of a H7 lamp. Can't find a good picture of the back of a projector.
