Default Help! Car Trouble

Hey guys new to the forum. I will be honest right from the getgo. I do know no much about mazda and their vehicles but recently i bought an 08" mazda 3 and started to do some toying around with it. rims, cai, and exhaust.

Leaving a park today i had to kind of get on it to beat the traffic and when it shifted into 2nd gear (Auto-Stick) It kind of was bogging out. I definately knew it wasnt good and its for sure not electrical. Now it doesnt even want to idle without bogging out and stalling. Any ideas on whats going on?????

Please help

Thanks

Chris

1st big mistake you made was putting a 3 inch exhaust on a non turboed 4 cyl. Did you get a check engine light? or its just bogging. Its an 08 i say take it to the dealer and see what they say but since you did a few mods to it i think they'll find a reason not to help you out.

yea that's most likely it. Take some carb spray and spray the MAF down or MAF cleaner. Let it dry reset the car and see if its fixed.

It could also be the wires on the harness to the MAF sensor..... if they're not lengthened they can break and cause the symptoms you're describing.

True! If you didn't disconnect the harness from the batt box when you installed the CAI, and it's tight that too could be the problem.
And though it's generally for the earlier cars, there is a TSB on the ground wire to the MAF also. You might look into that.
