PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I recently acquired an '04 3i and noticed that after turning off the engine, there is a dash light that flashes and have no idea what it's for. It's in the center pod, just to the left of the "AT" light, and above the gear indicator.
What on earth is it for? And what do I need to do to make it turn off?
(And I should have mentioned earlier, NO, it didn't come with an owner's manual.)

Look at the light, is it a red car with a key icon inside it? If so then this is the light for the engine immobilizer. It's flashing to tell you: A) it's working, and B) to help deter thieves.

Yes, it does look like a car. (However, since it's flashing, I can't really tell if there's a key icon inside it.)

It certainly sounds like the engine immobilizer light. It has confused a number of new owners that didn"t take the time to read the owners manual..... Hope you got one w/the car, or you might acquire one on.... eBay?
